TEN REASONS TO JOIN

VSCA is THE professional organization for school counselors in Virginia

VSCA Supports local school counselors with a variety of services and programs including:

 1.  Opportunities for professional development and skill building.

 2.  Provides a forum for counselors to share feelings about common concerns and work toward a common goal in solving the problems that are unique to our profession.

 3.  Addresses professional issues and topics.

 4.  Provides public relations and advocacy materials and ideas.

 5.  Acknowledges outstanding contributions to the field of school counseling.

 6.  Pursues pertinent legislation at both the state and national level.

 7.  Members receive the VSCA Voice - VSCA's quarterly magazine highlighting best practices,
      ideas and strategies.

 8.  Sponsors an annual conference and workshops for counselors throughout the state.

 9.  Provides representatives on statewide committees such as licensure, certification, the
      Virginia Education Coalition and the Virginia Counselor Association executive board.

10.  Serves as a liaison to the American School Counselors Association and represents Virginia at historical events and conferences.
