Visit your State Delegates & Senators
to discuss issues of importance for school counselors in Virginia
- Please register your attendance at www.vcacounselors.org
- Training will also provide you with ideas and language to use with your legislators as well as personalized information packets to give to legislators during your visit.
- Parking fee paid & breakfast provided by VA. Complimentary hotel shuttle provides local transportation to and from Capitol area.
- What to Do Now
- Go to http://legis.state.va.us and find out who represents you (Link to Who is My Legislator?), call the office and ask for an appointment anytime between 10:00 am- 4:30 PM; 15 minutes is usually sufficient.
- Familiarize yourself with the resources available, including ACA's Guide to Effective Advocacy
- Can't Attend -- You Can Still Participate
